Washington Cathedral Church was looking for an electrical contractor to collaborate with their general contractor, in the design and construction of a new facility.

Located on the Woodinville Redmond road, the Washington Cathedral Church was looking for an electrical contractor to collaborate with their general contractor, in the design and construction of a new facility. With the need to incorporate office space, a full commercial kitchen, meeting space, a library, sports court, worship center, swimming pool, teaching classrooms, theatrical stage as well as to keep an eye to the future so as to facilitate the long term plan for the campus, Zorko Electric was brought in by the general contractor to collaborate on the project.
On of the largest challenges from the design standpoint was lighting in the multipurpose room. This portion of the facility functions as the worship center, the indoor sports center, with basketball, soccer capabilities among other things. The East side of the space accommodates a full theatrical stage. With the ability to fly sets, run full theatrical shows as well as musical performances this facility is now a truly "one of a kind" in the Woodinville/Redmond area.
There is also an existing cell site on the grounds. The electrical service and the data feed to the site needed to be re-directed as the existing feeds ran under the East end of the building and under the intended location of the pool. As the final utility feeds for the cell tower and new facility would come up the same ditch the cell tower had to be temporarily fed and then permanently connected once utility services was established for the facility.
As with many Religious structures and organizations, costs were a constant concern and lots of effort went into value engineering. Lighting, Communications, and power systems were scrutinized again and again for possible savings.
